Summary: Eucalyptus gunnii Large adds refreshing aroma and chic silvery foliage to your home or balcony, creating a calming Mediterranean vibe with minimal care.

✨ Why You'll Love the Eucalyptus gunnii L

  • Beautiful rounded silver-blue leaves with calming menthol fragrance
  • Ideal for bright indoor spaces or sunny balconies and terraces
  • Fast-growing and easy-care tree for stylish modern homes
  • Perfect for minimalist, Scandinavian, or Mediterranean decor
  • Average height: 50 cm (can grow taller) | Pot size: 19 cm

🌞 Light & Placement

Thrives in full sun to bright indirect light. Indoors, place near the brightest window or conservatory. Outdoors, ideal for sunny patios or sheltered balconies.

💧 Water & Humidity

Water when the top 2–3 cm of soil are dry. Prefers low to moderate humidity and dislikes sitting in wet soil. Reduce watering in winter when growth slows.

🪴 Soil & Potting

Plant in a well-draining mix, ideally a blend for Mediterranean or citrus plants. Repot every 1–2 years in spring to accommodate fast root growth and keep it thriving.

🐾 Toxicity & Safety

Toxic if ingested by pets and humans due to essential oils. Keep out of reach of cats, dogs, and small children.

🌱 Growth & Propagation

Fast grower under optimal light. Can be pruned to maintain desired height and bushiness. Propagation is via seeds or semi-hardwood cuttings, best done in warm seasons.

📆 Seasonal & Special Care

Rotate regularly for even growth. Prune lightly to encourage bushier form. Protect from frost if kept outdoors in colder regions or move indoors during winter.

🐛 Common Issues

Generally pest-resistant but can develop root rot if overwatered. Ensure pots have drainage holes to prevent soggy soil.

🧬 Botanical Background

Eucalyptus gunnii, also known as the Cider Gum, is native to Tasmania and widely grown for its aromatic, silvery foliage. It brings a fresh Mediterranean feel to European homes and gardens.

Great children’s book
Cute little story. Goes with my daughter’s kindergarten curriculum which is why I bought. Has so many options for crafts and activities that can go with it-colors, seasons, poetry.

It's a really nice story about how we all have different ways of ...
A new acquaintance recently introduced me to "Frederick," a charming, very short children's picture book about a family of field mice who are preparing for the winter. One of them, a young mouse named Frederick, does not do much work and appears to be shirking his responsibilities. Frederick explains to his skeptical family that he IS working by quietly gathering imaginary sun rays for the cold winter days to come. The book ends with the mice experiencing a tough winter, and then being inspired to carry on by a poem Frederick has created that grew out of his meditations when his family members thought he was being lazy. It's a really nice story about how we all have different ways of making contributions, and that important work is not always readily visible, especially creative endeavors. The book also has some exercises for children, including one that guides a participant into writing a poem. If you read this story to a child and then make a poem together, it'll make a sweet project! A few of the words in the story are a bit advanced for young children, which offers a nice vocabulary building opportunity and does not detract from the story. What I like best about "Frederick" is that it acknowledges that we humans are not all the same, and that we need our different talents and personalities to "make it through the winter." It might be especially nice to share with that child in your life who "marches to the beat of a different drummer."
